Collagen types
The fundamental parameter for assessing bioavailability is the size of collagen particles. The smaller the molecule, the easier it is absorbed.

- Collagen tripeptides (600 times smaller than the collagen molecule and 4 times smaller than the peptide molecule): molecular mass = 0.2 – 0.5 kDa.
Hydrolysed collagen – maximum bioavailable form
The product contains collagen tripeptides. They are obtained by stepwise production of collagen peptides by enzymatic hydrolysis, in which the amino acid chains in the collagen molecule are cleaved into peptides, which are short sequences of amino acids.
These peptides are then cleaved into tripeptides containing glycine, proline and hydroxyproline, very low molecular weight peptides that can pass through the intestinal wall into the bloodstream without the body needing to divide them itself.
Maxicollagen
Hydrolysed liquid low molecular weight collagen with a high tripeptide content. It is derived from the skin of several species of marine and freshwater fish.
Maxicollagen’s amino acid profile is as close as possible to human skin, due to the correct ratio and concentration of the amino acids glycine, proline and hydroxyproline.
95% of all collagen in the skin is type I and III collagen. The distinctive feature of these types is the content of large amounts of three amino acids:
